Ennerdale Cycle Track is Hull’s first closed-road cycle circuit.
The 1km purpose-built track is built on land adjacent to Ennerdale Leisure Centre and the plans also included the creation of two ponds, the design of which incorporated ecological enhancements and native planting.
Available for use by local cycling clubs and the wider public, British Cycling had identified Hull as a priority location for the development of a closed road cycle track with the next nearest available facility in York.
The works comprised construction of a closed road cycle track, spectator paths and land drainage measures, as well as various improvement works to the existing leisure centre car park.
Glenn Smurthwaite, Managing Director of PBS, said:
“With being a local company based in Hull who employ over 50 people, we are always very proud to carry out work in our home city and help the local economy, using suppliers and subcontractors.”
