Fryupdale Cattle Grid

The Fryupdale Cattle Grid works consisted of the replacement of the existing cattle grid and associated timber fencing and field gate and surface repairs to the gate approach and cattle grid approaches as below:

  • cutting back hedgerow
  • taking up and disposal of the existing steel cattle grid and concrete cattle grid pit and full replacement of the cattle grid pit and steel cattle grid with standardised units. Replacement cattle grid pit is constructed in-situ
  • taking up and disposal of associated timber post and rail fencing and timber field (horse and carriage) gate and posts and replacement of all with new
  • cleaning out and reconnection to the existing pipe and gully to the cattle grid
  • cleaning out exsitng drainage soakaway chamber and replacement of paving slab cover 600mm x 600mm D400 cover and frame
  • cold milling or excavation of field (horse/carriage) gate approach and resurfacing
  • cold milling and resurfacing of carriageway approaches to the cattle grid

Goathland Cattle Grid

The Goathland Cattle Grid works consisted of the replacement of the existing cattle grid and associated timber fencing, connection of drainage outfall to adjacent culvert and surface repairs to the gate approach and cattle grid approaches as below:

  • taking up and disposal of the existing steel cattle grid and concrete cattle grid pit and full replacement of the cattle grid pit and steel cattle grid with standardised units. Replacement cattle grid pit is constructed in-situ;
  • taking up and disposal of associated timber post and rail fencing and replacement of all with new;
  • removal of the existing cattle grid connection to the adjacent culvert, sealing culvert at existing connection point and connection of replacement cattle grid drainage outlet to the existing adjacent culvert
  • cold milling and resurfacing of carriageway approaches to the cattle grid

Red Gate Cattle Grid

The Red Gate Cattle Grid works consisted of the construction of a temporary vehicle diversion including protection of the culvert adjacent to the cattle grid, replacement of the existing cattle grid and associated timber fencing and cattle grid bypass gate, connection of drainage outfall to adjacent culvert and surfacing to the temporary diversion creating a new gate bypass, resurfacing of the cattle grid approaches as below:

  • cutting back tree and verge overgrowth;
  • construction of a temporary vehicle diversion adjacent to the cattle grid including concrete protection of the existing shallow culvert
  • taking up and disposal of the existing steel cattle grid and concrete cattle grid pit and full replacement of the cattle grid pit and steel cattle grid with standardised units. Replacement cattle grid pit is constructed in-situ;
  • taking up and disposal of associated timber post and rail fencing, and timber field (pedestrian, horse and carriage) gate and posts and replacement of new horse and carriage gate
  • removal of the existing cattle grid connection to the adjacent culvert, sealing culvert at existing connection point and connection of replacement cattle grid drainage outlet to the existing adjacent culvert
  • surfacing over temporary vehicle diversion for conversion to new cattle grid bypass
  • cold milling and resurfacing of carriageway approaches to the cattle grid
