Work Begins on Ennerdale Cycle Circuit

We have recently begun works on Ennerdale Playing Fields at Sutton Park, Hull, constructing a 1km cycle circuit.

With the next nearest facility of its kind located in York, the project also involves the creation of two large ponds near the track to encourage and protect wildlife within the area, as well as improvements to the existing leisure centre car park.

The field was most recognised as football playing fields, until which in recent years the site has been left vacant due to flooding. The cycle track design takes into account the flooding properties with the installation of a new drainage system to the track connected to the newly created ponds.

The track may be used by a variety of groups such as families, schools, cycling communities and anybody else looking at getting into the sport. Classes will available for keen cyclists of all abilities, ensuring the track will always be thriving.

The £650k project anticipates completion in May 2017.
