Wheeler Primary School in Hull has recently created a brand new construction play area for its Foundation Stage children and PBS was only too happy to play a small part by donating resources for the project.
The school took inspiration from ongoing construction works in their locality to create the new play area and already had some resources. However, they needed a number of road barriers which PBS donated, along with hi-viz vests, hard hats and safety glasses for the children to wear.
The area is now up and running with the children from the Foundation Stage regularly practicing their construction skills.
Tracy Johnson, Nursery Nurse at Wheeler Primary, said:
“Our Foundation Stage children are loving using our newly revamped construction area and we’re so grateful for the generous donations and support from PBS.”
Glenn Smurthwaite, Managing Director at PBS, added:
“When the school contacted us about helping out with some resources we were more than happy to offer our support. We’ve recently completed a big project on Anlaby Road, which isn’t too far from Wheeler Primary, and it was nice to hear that the school had maybe seen that and used it to help formulate their idea.
“As a business born and bred in Hull we’re always looking to support the local community and hopefully this small donation will help to make a big difference to Wheeler Primary.”
