West Hull ARLFC are being backed by PBS Construction during 2021 with the company agreeing to be the front of shirt sponsor for the first team.
The partnership had initially been due to start back in 2020 but with the season being postponed, it was put on hold. However, with the 2021 campaign up and running, the first team, who compete in League G of the National Conference League, are now carrying the PBS logo on the front of their playing shirts.
Brendon Smurthwaite, Community Manager at PBS, said:
“As a company we have really strong links with local sport and it’s nice to be able to extend those by supporting West Hull. It’s obviously been a tough time financially for all amateur sports clubs and hopefully our sponsorship will play a small part in helping West Hull to keep moving forward.”
Ryan McKenna, Open Age Manager at West Hull, added:
“PBS kindly sponsored our Academy shirts and some of the off-field wear in 2020 but obviously the season was cut short when Covid hit.
“When it came to 2021 we thought it was only right to have the same sponsors again without seeking extra sponsorship so I got in touch with the sponsors, including PBS, to make sure they were happy to continue partnering with us in 2021.
“Managing Director Glenn Smurthwaite promptly got back in touch to say the company were more than happy to continue with us and that they wanted to help us out with more sponsorship money too. We were not expecting that from any of our sponsors but it was a massive help to us and very much appreciated.
“It’s great to see successful local companies such as PBS supporting local grassroots sports like this in the difficult times we’ve all seen in the last 15 months or so. We look forward to continuing and hopefully developing a strong relationship with PBS for years to come.”
