KELVIN HALL – PBS CONSTRUCTION TAKE TEN STUDENTS FOR WORK EXPERIENCE

PBS Construction have taken ten pupils from Kelvin Hall in 2014 to give them the work experience they need.

This is fantastic as it shows that PBS are keen to give back to the local community. The work experience that our young society take part in is extremely important, more companies should get involved.

Don’t take our word for it, below are quotes from the pupils that attended work experience at PBS:

Henry Millbank – “I really enjoyed my placement because it was practical and I like that more than being in the classroom.  We built an outdoor multi gym at West Park, I helped make cement and pour concrete into holes.  My placement has made me want to try harder in English, Maths and Science, which will enable me to get a good job.”

Conrad Moy – “I worked in the office photocopying, sending emails, filing, sorting information, using the fax and creating documents.  I enjoyed all the tasks, it was fun and really different to school. It was great being in a real workplace.  I also gained more confidence from talking to different people.”

Zac Brown – “I really liked the experience of adult life that I got at PBS, the people were really friendly, fun and treated me like a grown up.”

Although Nathan was not available to quote. Nathan stated on his work experience evaluation that he enjoyed all of his placement and that he liked being part of a team.  He helped to dig out trenches and then install ducting and drainage. Nathan also commented that he would try harder in his GCSE’s after his placement.
