PBS are delighted to announce that we have been awarded with another major flood alleviation scheme. In addition to our ongoing flood defence project in Paull, working in partnership with East Riding of Yorkshire Council, we have been awarded with the Anlaby & East Ella Flood Alleviation Scheme ‘AEEFAS’.
Works are due to commence at the following sites in Anlaby & East Ella:
Works consist of the replacement of existing structures carrying the Western Drain under the public highway with box culverts and the construction of a new culvert to carry a proposed flood alleviation channel under Beverley Road in Anlaby.
The £1m project is Phase 1 of a major £22m scheme taking place over the next three years which will significantly reduce the risk of flooding to over 3000 properties in Anlaby, Kirk Ella & West Hull. Following the devastating floods of 2007 the AEEFAS scheme is one of a number of essential flood alleviation projects, eliminating and reducing the flood risk to Hull and the East Riding.
We are due to begin work next week (17th July) and look to finish late November.
